Common Samsung problems

The frozen ice maker on French-door models is the most common single fault we see across the whole GTA. There is a factory service bulletin behind it, and a proper fix means addressing the seal and defrost path — not just melting the ice out.

Why OEM parts matter on Samsung

Samsung control boards and inverter compressors are tightly matched to their firmware. A cheap aftermarket board can run for a month and then throw faults that look like a completely different failure, which is why we fit Samsung parts on anything touching the control or sealed system.

  • Factory parts on anything touching the control or sealed system
  • We tell you when an aftermarket part is genuinely fine and cheaper
  • Part numbers go on your invoice, so the next technician is not guessing

What affects the repair price

  • The part itself — a door switch and a sealed-system component are different worlds.
  • Age and brand — luxury built-ins need factory-spec parts, and those cost more.
  • Access — a stacked unit in a condo closet takes longer to reach than a free-standing machine.

We do not publish repair price ranges. Senior Discount — $50 applies on top of the quoted job, and there are no trip surcharges or weekend premiums.

Samsung repair questions

Why does my Samsung ice maker keep freezing over?

On French-door models the ice room is not sealed as well as it needs to be, so humid air reaches the auger and freezes around it. Samsung has issued service guidance on this. A real fix addresses the seal and the defrost path — thawing the ice out buys about six weeks before you are back where you started.

What do the 4C and 5C codes on my Samsung washer mean?

4C (also shown as 4E) means water is not entering the machine — check the taps and the inlet screens first, since that solves it more often than not. 5C or 5E means it is not draining, and the debris filter behind the lower panel is the usual culprit. If either returns after those checks, the valve or pump needs replacing.

Is a Samsung refrigerator worth repairing?

Usually yes for anything outside the sealed system: ice makers, fans, sensors, boards and door seals are all sensible repairs. Inverter compressor work on an older unit is where the math turns, and we will tell you when replacement is the better spend rather than quoting a job we do not think you should buy.

Do you carry Samsung parts on the van?

We carry the components that fail most often — ice maker assemblies, drain pumps, water valves, thermistors and door switches. Anything model-specific is ordered the same day, and the return visit carries no second service call.
