Appliance Repair FAQ

Booking, pricing, warranty, repairs and coverage — answered properly.

The short version: the service call is $120 plus HST and covers a full diagnosis, you approve a written quote before any repair starts, and every job carries a 60-day parts & labour warranty. We work on residential appliances only, across Toronto and the GTA, seven days a week.

— Booking & arrival

Booking & arrival

How fast can you get here?

In most of Toronto, North York, East York, Scarborough and Etobicoke we reach you within about an hour during business hours. Further out in the GTA — Brampton, Markham, Richmond Hill — plan on 60 to 90 minutes. Call +1 (416) 885-0963 and we will tell you the honest window for your postal code before you commit.

How quickly do you reply to an online request?

Within 15 minutes during business hours. A real person calls you back to confirm the appliance, the symptom and the address — that call is also where we tell you if the fault sounds like something you can clear yourself, which happens more often than you would expect.

Do you offer same-day service?

Yes, where the schedule allows, and it usually does. Same-day works best when you call in the morning. If every slot is gone we say so instead of booking you into a window we cannot keep, and we offer the first slot the following morning.

Do you work weekends?

We take calls and bookings seven days a week — Mon–Sun 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM. Weekend availability fills faster than weekdays, so the earlier you call, the better the window you get.

What should I have ready before the technician arrives?

The model and serial number, usually on a sticker inside the door, behind the kickplate, or on the back panel. A photo of that sticker lets us bring the right part on the first visit. Clear a path to the appliance and, in a condo, let us know if the building requires a service elevator booking.

Do I need to be home during the repair?

Someone over 18 needs to be there to approve the quote and let the technician in. You do not have to hover — most repairs take under two hours, and the technician will walk you through what was replaced and how to avoid a repeat before leaving.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

Call +1 (416) 885-0963 and we will move the appointment, no charge. We ask for as much notice as you can give so the slot goes to someone else waiting on a warm fridge.

— Pricing & payment

Pricing & payment

How much does the service call cost?

$120 plus HST covers the visit and the full diagnostic. You then get a written quote before any repair work starts, and you approve it before we touch anything. If you decline the repair, you pay the service call and nothing else.

Why do you not publish repair prices?

Because honest ranges would be useless. The same symptom on two fridges can be a $40 part or a $600 sealed-system job, and a "from $X" number on a website is a hook, not information. We diagnose first, then hand you one written number for the whole job — parts, labour and tax.

How much is appliance installation?

A flat $250 plus HST for any residential installation — fridge, washer, dryer, dishwasher, range, cooktop or hood. One rate, no per-appliance pricing games, levelling, hookup and a test run included.

Do you have a senior discount?

Yes, $50 off. Mention it when booking so it is on the work order before the quote is written.

How can I pay?

Cash, credit card, debit or e-Transfer, whichever suits you. You get an itemised invoice with the job number on it — keep that number, it is what activates your warranty if you ever need a return visit.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. The written quote you approve is what you pay. No trip surcharge, no shop supplies line, no weekend premium. If a second part turns out to be needed once the machine is open, we stop and re-quote before continuing.

— Warranty

Warranty

What exactly does the warranty cover?

60-Day Parts & Labour Warranty: 60 days on our labour and 60 days on the parts we install. If the same fault returns or the same part fails in that window, we come back free. It does not cover misuse, damage from another technician working on the machine afterwards, or a new unrelated breakdown.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Three steps: call +1 (416) 885-0963, give us the job number from your invoice, and we book the return visit. No second diagnostic charge and no forms to fill in.

Are you insured?

Yes — commercial general liability through Wawanesa, $2 million per occurrence and $5 million general aggregate, with products and completed operations coverage as well. That matters most in condos, where a mistake on a water line becomes your neighbour's ceiling.

— Repairs & parts

Repairs & parts

Can you fix it on the first visit?

Most of the time, yes — our vans carry the parts that fail most often across the brands we see daily. When a part has to be ordered, we tell you the timeline on the spot rather than leaving you guessing, and the return visit carries no second service call.

Is it worth repairing an older appliance?

Our rule of thumb: if the repair costs more than half of a comparable new unit and the appliance is past its typical service life, replacement wins. We tell you when that is the case even though it means we do not get the job — a $700 repair on a 14-year-old washer is not a favour to anyone.

Do you service commercial or restaurant equipment?

No. We focus exclusively on residential appliances, which is how we keep response times fast and repairs guaranteed. Commercial kitchen equipment runs different duty cycles and parts channels, and doing it properly would mean doing residential work worse.

Do you repair gas appliances?

We handle the electrical side of cooking appliances — igniter modules, spark systems, control boards, sensors and convection systems. Gas line work itself is a separate licensed trade, and we will tell you plainly when a job needs one.

What brands do you work on?

Everyday brands like Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, Bosch and KitchenAid, and luxury built-ins including Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, Thermador and Viking — plus several hundred others. If your brand is unusual, call and ask: we would rather check parts availability first than take a booking we cannot finish.

— Service area

Which areas do you cover?

Toronto, North York, East York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill, plus surrounding GTA communities including Oakville, Burlington, Pickering and Ajax. If you are not sure whether you are inside the zone, call +1 (416) 885-0963 — we usually are.

Do you charge extra for distance?

No. The service call is $120 plus HST whether you are downtown or in Kleinburg. Farther addresses simply get a slightly wider arrival window.

Do you work in condos and high-rises?

Constantly — a large share of our downtown and Mississauga work is in towers. We book service elevators, follow building rules on protection and access, and carry the insurance certificate property managers ask for.
