What the spot needs to have

| Water | A shut-off valve behind or under the unit if you want the ice maker and dispenser connected. We can work with a saddle valve, but we will tell you why a proper tee is better. |
| Clearance | At least 25 mm behind and above for airflow. Boxing a fridge in tight is the leading cause of the warm-running calls we get a year later. |
| Doorway | Measure the narrowest point on the path. If it is tighter than the unit, we remove the doors — that is part of the flat rate, not an extra. |
Three mistakes we get called out to fix
Plugging in immediately after transport on its side
Compressor oil ends up where refrigerant should be. Running it straight away can destroy a brand-new compressor within hours. It needs to stand upright for several hours first.
Skipping levelling because the floor looks flat
Doors stop self-closing, seals stop sealing, and you get condensation, ice buildup and a fridge that runs constantly. Almost no kitchen floor is actually level.
Reusing an old plastic water line
Old poly lines go brittle and split at the fitting — often behind the unit where nobody sees it until the floor is soaked. New line is included in what we do.

Do you take the old fridge away?
Ask when you book — haul-away depends on the unit and the building, and we will tell you plainly what we can do for your address rather than promising it and improvising on the day.
Can you install a fridge that is wider than my doorway?
Usually yes. Removing the doors buys you the few centimetres that matter, and refitting and realigning them is part of the flat rate. Send us a photo of the doorway when you book and we will confirm before the visit.
How long does a refrigerator installation take?
Around an hour for a straightforward swap, longer for a built-in fitted into cabinetry or where a new water line has to be run. We do not leave until the unit is levelled, the water line holds pressure and the compartment is pulling down to temperature.
Is the $250 rate really flat?
Yes — one rate for any residential refrigerator installation, plus HST. No per-appliance pricing, no charge for door removal, no weekend premium.
