Why Choose Us
An honest comparison, including where the other options win.
Fast Appliance Repair Pro is usually the fastest of the three options available to a GTA homeowner: same-day arrival, a written quote before any work, OEM parts and a 60-day parts & labour warranty. Where the manufacturer wins is warranty length and their own brand; where a handyman wins is occasionally price. We say so plainly below.
Us, a handyman, and manufacturer service
Every row is written the way we would explain it on the phone — including the rows we do not win.
| What matters | Us | Typical handyman | Manufacturer service |
|---|---|---|---|
| How fast someone arrives | Same day in most cases, about an hour in Toronto | Often quick, depends entirely on the individual | Typically several days to a week |
| Diagnostic cost | $120 + HST, full diagnosis included | Varies widely, sometimes free but hourly after | Usually a fixed call-out fee, comparable |
| Quote before work | Written, on-site, approved by you before anything starts | Often verbal and open-ended | Standardised, sometimes only after parts are ordered |
| Parts | OEM by default, factory-spec on built-ins | Whatever the supplier had that day | Always factory parts — their strongest point |
| Warranty on the work | 60-Day Parts & Labour Warranty, parts and labour | Rarely written down | Usually 90 days to a year — often longer than ours |
| Insurance | $2M liability through Wawanesa | Frequently none — worth asking directly | Fully covered |
| Brand knowledge | Deep across the brands common in the GTA | General, rarely appliance-specific | Complete — but only for their own brand |
| Appliance still under warranty | We check and send you back to the manufacturer if covered | A repair may void the remaining coverage | The correct choice — free to you |
What you actually get
- 01
You get a number before we touch anything
The $120 service call covers a full diagnosis. After that you get one written figure for the whole job — parts, labour and tax — and nothing proceeds until you approve it. No hourly meter running while someone works out what is wrong.
- 02
The warranty is short and unconditional
60-Day Parts & Labour Warranty. Sixty days on parts and sixty on labour, with no exclusions buried in a page of small print. If the same fault returns, we come back free. We would rather promise a shorter term and keep it than advertise a year with conditions attached.
- 03
We turn down work that is not worth your money
Cabrio bearings on a ten-year-old washer, sealed-system repairs on an aging fridge, countertop microwaves — we tell you on the phone when a repair does not make financial sense, before you pay for a visit to hear it.
- 04
Insurance that covers your home, not just ours
Commercial general liability through Wawanesa at $2 million per occurrence, including products and completed operations. In a condo, where a water line mistake becomes your neighbour’s ceiling, that is not a formality.
- 05
We know what fails on your specific machine
A Samsung French-door ice maker freezing because of a seal. An LG LE code that is a rotor sensor rather than a motor. A Bosch E24 that clears with a filter clean. That pattern knowledge is what turns a two-visit job into a one-visit job.
- 06
Residential only, deliberately
We do not service commercial or restaurant equipment. Staying out of that work keeps our parts inventory focused on home appliances and our arrival windows short — which is the whole reason we can offer same-day service at all.

Compare all you like — then call us today.
Choosing who to call
Should I call you or the manufacturer?
If the appliance is still under manufacturer warranty, call them — and we will tell you that on the phone rather than booking a visit. Once it is out of warranty, we are usually faster and no more expensive, and we work on every brand rather than one.
A handyman quoted me less. What is the difference?
Sometimes nothing, and a good handyman is a fine choice for simple work. What differs is insurance, appliance-specific parts knowledge and a written warranty. Ask any tradesperson for proof of liability coverage before they work in your home — the answer is informative either way.
Do you charge more for luxury brands?
The service call is the same $120 plus HST for every brand. Factory-spec parts for Sub-Zero, Wolf or Miele cost more than mass-market equivalents, and built-in work takes longer — both of those show up in the written quote you approve, not as a surcharge.
