Is a 12-year-old Miele washer worth repairing?
Almost always. These machines are designed for around twenty years of use, so at twelve you are two-thirds through a long life rather than at the end of a short one. We repair Miele units at ages where we would be advising replacement on a mid-range machine.
What does the Waterproof System warning on my Miele mean?
The machine has detected water where it should not be and shut off the supply — a safety system doing its job. It can be a genuine leak or a failed float sensor, and the machine will not run until the cause is cleared. In an apartment or condo, that system has almost certainly saved someone a ceiling.
Why will my Miele W1 not drain?
Nine times out of ten there is something in the pump — a coin, a hairpin, an underwire. The drain filter is accessible behind the lower panel and worth checking before you call us. If it is clear and the machine still will not drain, the pump or its control is at fault.
