Monogram Appliance Repair in Toronto & the GTA

Monogram is GE's built-in line, which means familiar diagnostics sitting behind panel-ready fronts that take careful removal and a longer booked window. We repair the built-in refrigerators, freezer and wine columns, electric wall ovens, Advantium speedcook units, induction cooktops and dishwashers across Toronto and the GTA. Service call $120 plus HST, 60-day parts and labour warranty.

Common Monogram problems

Monogram's professional ranges are mostly gas, so on the cooking side we take the electric wall ovens, induction cooktops and Advantium units only.

Built-in refrigerator running warm with the top machine compartment packed with dust

  • 02

Custom door panels pulling the hinges down until the seal parts at the top

Why OEM parts matter on Monogram

Control boards here carry series-specific firmware, and the Advantium magnetron and halogen assemblies are matched to the oven they were built for. A board from a neighbouring model number powers up, then misreads the temperature sensors and sends you chasing a refrigeration fault that never existed.

  • Factory parts on anything touching the control or sealed system
  • We tell you when an aftermarket part is genuinely fine and cheaper
  • Part numbers go on your invoice, so the next technician is not guessing

What affects the repair price

  • The part itself — a door switch and a sealed-system component are different worlds.
  • Age and brand — luxury built-ins need factory-spec parts, and those cost more.
  • Access — a stacked unit in a condo closet takes longer to reach than a free-standing machine.

We do not publish repair price ranges. Senior Discount — $50 applies on top of the quoted job, and there are no trip surcharges or weekend premiums.

Monogram repair questions

My Monogram built-in refrigerator is running warm. Where do you look first?

At the top grille. Unlike a freestanding fridge, the machine compartment on these built-ins sits above the doors, and the condenser up there collects dust from the whole kitchen. Warm running with a compressor that never stops is the classic symptom. If the coils are clean and the condenser fan spins freely, we move on to the evaporator and the sealed system.

What is an Advantium oven, and do you repair them?

Advantium is GE's speedcook oven — halogen lamps for browning combined with microwave energy, wired at 240 volts in the Monogram version. The two halves fail independently, so an oven that browns but will not heat through has a microwave-side fault while the lamps are fine. It is a built-in unit, and built-in or over-the-range is the only microwave work we take.

The ice maker in my Monogram column fills but never drops cubes. What is it?

Almost always the fill or the harvest, not the module itself. A fill tube frozen at the back wall stops water reaching the tray; a harvest that stalls leaves cubes welded in place. We check pressure at the inlet valve, the fill tube heater and the mould thermostat before condemning the ice maker, because the assembly is an expensive part on a column.

The custom panels on my Monogram column no longer line up. Can that be adjusted?

Yes. The panel weight has worked the hinges out of adjustment. A custom door front adds real mass, and over the years the hinge cams settle, which shows first as a gap at the top of the seal and a fridge that runs longer than it should. Hinges adjust and shim back to square, and the gasket gets checked afterwards.
