Frigidaire Appliance Repair in Toronto & the GTA

Frigidaire builds to a price point, and it shows in the diagnosis: the same handful of weak points come up again and again — the defrost drain, the dishwasher console, the front-load door boot. We cover Frigidaire refrigerators, freezers, laundry, dishwashers and electric ranges across Toronto and the GTA. Service call $120 plus HST, 60-day parts and labour warranty.

— What we see most

Common Frigidaire problems

Parts are cheap and easy to get, which makes most Frigidaire repairs worth doing — but the same failure tends to come back in five or six years.

  • 01

Defrost drain freezing shut, meltwater running forward under the crisper drawers

  • 02

Dishwasher console going dead, buttons unresponsive and no cycle will start

  • 03

Affinity door boot torn along the lower fold where coins collect

  • 04

Range element stuck on full heat after the infinite switch welds closed

Why OEM parts matter on Frigidaire

Ice maker assemblies are the trap here. Aftermarket copies fit and cycle for a season, then start harvesting at the wrong temperature and jam the tray. Door boots are the second one — the clones use thinner rubber and split along that same lower fold.

  • Factory parts on anything touching the control or sealed system
  • We tell you when an aftermarket part is genuinely fine and cheaper
  • Part numbers go on your invoice, so the next technician is not guessing

What affects the repair price

  • The part itself — a door switch and a sealed-system component are different worlds.
  • Age and brand — luxury built-ins need factory-spec parts, and those cost more.
  • Access — a stacked unit in a condo closet takes longer to reach than a free-standing machine.

We do not publish repair price ranges. Senior Discount — $50 applies on top of the quoted job, and there are no trip surcharges or weekend premiums.

Frigidaire repair questions

Why is water pooling under the crisper drawer in my Frigidaire fridge?

The defrost drain has iced over. Meltwater from each defrost cycle should run down a small tube to the pan under the compressor, and when that tube blocks, the water backs up across the freezer floor and finds its way forward under the drawers. Clearing the ice is the easy half. We also test the defrost heater and thermostat, since a weak defrost cycle refreezes the tube within months.

The buttons on my Frigidaire dishwasher have stopped responding. Is that worth fixing?

Usually yes. The console on these is a sealed membrane bonded to its own board, and it fails as a unit rather than one key at a time — half the panel goes, then the rest. The part is not expensive and the swap takes under an hour. We check the door latch switch first, because a latch that never confirms looks identical from the outside.

Is an older Frigidaire Affinity washer worth repairing?

It depends entirely on which part has gone. Door boots, drain pumps, door locks and heaters are cheap parts with straightforward labour, and they are worth doing on a machine of almost any age. Drum bearings are the other end: the outer tub comes out, the labour runs long, and on a ten-year-old Affinity the arithmetic rarely favours the repair. We show you both numbers before you decide.

A burner on my Frigidaire range stays on full heat. What causes that?

The infinite switch behind the knob has welded its contacts closed, so the element gets full power no matter where the dial sits. Turn the breaker off and stop using that element — it will not switch itself off. The switch is a stocked part and a short job. We work on the electric models; gas ranges are a different trade.
