Danby repair questions
Is it worth repairing a compact Danby fridge?
Often yes, and we tell you which on the spot. A start relay, a thermostat, a door gasket or a fan motor is a straightforward repair worth doing. A sealed-system leak in a small bar fridge is not — the labour outweighs what the cabinet costs new, and you will hear that from us before you spend anything past the diagnostic.
My Danby wine cooler will not hold temperature in summer. Is it broken?
Probably not broken, if yours is a thermoelectric model. Those cool by a fixed number of degrees below the room, so a 26-degree kitchen in July puts the target out of reach and nothing has actually failed. Compressor models should hold regardless, and when one drifts we check the fan, the thermistor and the door seal. Ambient temperature is the first question we ask.
Do you repair Danby countertop microwaves?
No — countertop microwaves of any brand are outside what we do, and Danby sells a lot of them. We do repair Danby over-the-range units: door interlock switches, the turntable motor, the magnetron circuit and the control panel. If yours sits on the counter, replacing it is almost always the cheaper route, and we will say so rather than book a visit.
My Danby portable dishwasher leaks at the tap. Can that be fixed?
Yes, and it is usually the quick-connect coupler rather than the machine. The rubber seal inside the faucet adapter hardens, and household pressure finds the gap the moment the fill valve opens. We replace the coupler and check the adapter threads on your tap, since a worn aerator thread will defeat a new coupler straight away.
