Asko Appliance Repair in Toronto & the GTA

Half the Asko dishwasher complaints we attend come down to a salt container nobody knew was there. These are 24-inch European machines on steel frames with a built-in water softener, and Toronto water is hard. We repair the dishwashers, washers, dryers and electric ovens and cooktops across the GTA. Service call $120 plus HST, 60-day parts and labour warranty.

Common Asko problems

Volumes here are small, so almost nothing Asko-specific sits on the van. We price the job once the part is confirmed, not once the machine is in pieces.

  • 01

Filmy glassware after years of running with the softener salt container empty

  • 02

Standing water in the sump, drain pump blocked behind the coarse filter

  • 03

Washer walking across the floor on high-speed spin as the shock absorbers give up

  • 04

Heat pump dryer taking hours once fine lint packs the evaporator fins

  • DFI fully integrated dishwashers
  • Craft series ovens
  • Elements series ovens
  • W and T series laundry
— Parts

Why OEM parts matter on Asko

European model coding shifts between production years even where the housing looks identical, so a circulation pump or softener valve from the wrong year fits the sump and then runs at the wrong speed for the programme. We order against the model and serial from the rating plate.

  • Factory parts on anything touching the control or sealed system
  • We tell you when an aftermarket part is genuinely fine and cheaper
  • Part numbers go on your invoice, so the next technician is not guessing

What affects the repair price

  • The part itself — a door switch and a sealed-system component are different worlds.
  • Age and brand — luxury built-ins need factory-spec parts, and those cost more.
  • Access — a stacked unit in a condo closet takes longer to reach than a free-standing machine.

We do not publish repair price ranges. Senior Discount — $50 applies on top of the quoted job, and there are no trip surcharges or weekend premiums.

Asko repair questions

Why does my Asko dishwasher leave a white film on glassware?

Nine times in ten the softener has run dry. Asko builds a water softener into the machine, with its own salt container in the floor of the tub, and Toronto water is hard enough that an empty container shows up within weeks as film on glass and chalky residue inside the tub. Refill with dishwasher salt, never table salt, and set the hardness level in the programme menu.

Why are my dishes still wet when the Asko cycle finishes?

Because these dry by condensation rather than with a heating element. The tub is stainless throughout, so metal and china come out dry while plastics hold droplets, and that is the design working normally. If the whole load is wet, check rinse aid first, then the fan and the moisture sensor on Turbo Drying models — a stalled fan leaves everything damp.

Can you get Asko parts in Toronto, and how long does it take?

Yes, though almost nothing sits on the van. Asko sells in small numbers here, so parts are ordered against the model and serial from the rating plate. Circulation pumps, door hinge springs, softener valves and control boards usually arrive within a few days, longer if the part ships from Europe. We confirm availability and give you the written price before the machine comes apart.

Do you work on Asko heat pump dryers and drying cabinets?

Yes, both. On heat pump dryers the usual complaint is a cycle that runs for hours, and the cause is normally fine lint packed into the evaporator fins behind the lower filter, or a condensate pump that is no longer emptying to the drain. Drying cabinets are rarer and mostly fail on the fan motor, the heater or the door switch.
