Amana Appliance Repair in Toronto & the GTA
Amana appliances are among the quicker jobs we book. They run on Whirlpool platforms, so the parts are common, well documented and usually already on the van. We cover the top-load washers, electric dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, electric ranges and over-the-range microwaves across Toronto and the GTA. Service call $120 plus HST, 60-day parts and labour warranty.

Common Amana problems
Amana keeps parts cheap and fast, but a tub bearing or transmission job on one rarely makes financial sense against the price of a new machine.
- 01
Lid lock failing on NTW top-loaders, the machine filling then stopping dead
- 02
Defrost heater open circuit on top-freezers, the evaporator icing until airflow stops
- 03
Dryer element coil broken open, the drum tumbling cold load after load
- 04
Bake element burned through, the broiler still working and the oven baking nothing

Why OEM parts matter on Amana
Because Amana shares part numbers with Whirlpool and Maytag, genuine components are cheap and stocked locally — there is no saving worth chasing in a clone. Bake elements are the exception people try: a generic one with the wrong terminal spacing gets forced on and arcs at the connector.
- Factory parts on anything touching the control or sealed system
- We tell you when an aftermarket part is genuinely fine and cheaper
- Part numbers go on your invoice, so the next technician is not guessing
— Pricing
Simple, honest pricing
- Service call & diagnostic$120 + HST
- Written quote on-siteBefore any work
- Senior discount$50 off
What affects the repair price
- The part itself — a door switch and a sealed-system component are different worlds.
- Age and brand — luxury built-ins need factory-spec parts, and those cost more.
- Access — a stacked unit in a condo closet takes longer to reach than a free-standing machine.
Amana repair questions
Is Amana just a rebadged Whirlpool?
Close to it. Whirlpool has owned Amana since 2006 and builds it on shared platforms, which works in your favour: the washer drive parts, the dryer element, the fridge defrost thermostat are all common items we already carry and all properly documented. What Amana leaves out is trim, insulation and control features, not the mechanics we work on.
My Amana top-loader fills and then stops. Why will it not start washing?
The lid lock is the usual culprit on the NTW machines. The board will not run a wash until the lock reports the lid shut and latched, and when the striker wears or the solenoid inside fails, the cycle stalls with a full tub. It is an inexpensive part fitted under the top panel, and it is a same-visit job.
My Amana oven browns under the broiler but will not bake. What is wrong?
The bake element at the floor of the oven has burned through. Broil runs off a separate element in the roof, so the oven still browns while nothing bakes, and you can usually see the break or a blistered spot on the lower element. It is a common stocked part and a short job once the power is isolated.
When would you tell me not to repair an Amana?
When the job is the tub bearing, the transmission or a sealed-system leak. Those are long labour jobs, and on a value-line machine the total lands close enough to a new appliance that the repair stops making sense. We put both figures in front of you in writing after the diagnosis, and we are content to be told no.
